We had a blast at the zoo!

It’s crazy to think, but this redesign of ryanarrowsmith.com is actually the ninth version of the site. I originally started this domain as a blog and had a little success as a lifestyle blogger. But life changed and I didn’t have the drive to keep it running. I still have my archives and maybe I’ll bring it back online someday…who knows.

About 2008, I switched this over to my photography site as I began honing my skills. It became my client portal too when I started taking on paid shoots.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve gone back and forth between shooting professionally and taking hiatuses, mostly because of fluctuating circumstances in my personal life. I work full time, so this has always been a side project. In the past few years, I’ve gotten married, had a baby and changed jobs (plus a million other things). So, I haven’t been able to consistently commit to taking on shoots like I would have loved to.

So, with RAP 9.0, I’m also launching a new mindset with sessions: I’ll do what I can. I’m not saying that I’m accepting all sessions, but I am certainly open to working them in when I can. At the end of the day, my family is my priority so I’m focused on being present as much as possible for them. If I can work in a few sessions here and there, awesomesauce!

Thanks for hanging around and for checking back in with me. I’m hoping to update the site more regularly with photos I’ve taken just for fun. I’ll also throw out a few photography tips here and there.

He’s growing up too fast and I may be on the verge of dying from sadness about it. (please note: this post contains a lot of melodrama on my part.)

The best way to spend time: creating with a wonderful friend. Together we worked on part of my little Bean’s birthday present this weekend. It was awesomesauce. In true dork style, we’re sporting part of our creation. We’re so classy it’s spelled with a K. :)

I love the joy a toddler possesses.  They find contentment in the most random and unusual places and acts.  Like moving a lawn chair all over the yard and then sitting in it.  I guess you’ve gotta find the perfect spot.

She got her hair did. And she looks (and smells) beautimus, friends.

Jer and I were able to sneak away to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for a quick little weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a few days before Thanksgiving, so we pretty much had the entire place to ourselves.
